The 2015 - 2016 60th Jubilee Season

Sidmouth Badminton Club were proud to celebrate 60 years in the Exeter & District League, but the jubilation did not extend to results in match  play. The Ladies team, promoted to Division 2 in 2014, managed only three draws in eight games, losing the rest. They finished at the bottom of the table and may face relegation for the 2016 - 2017 season.

It's the same story for Mixed B. They won only one of their ten games, ending in bottom place. After two seasons in Division 2A, they are perhaps destined for Division 2B this autumn. There is better news for Mixed A, though. With three wins they are in the middle of Division 1, to which they were promoted last year, so should remain in the top division.

Mens B lost all their games so they are, unsuprisingly, at the bottom of Division 3A. There is no lower division this season and if this pattern remains for 2016 - 2017, they can't be relegated. Mens A, promoted to Division 1 at the start of 2015, won two of their ten games, ending second from the bottom of the league. The may have done just enough to stay in Division 1 for next season.
