ShuttlecockDespite the snow and freezing temperatures, a good number of members turned out for the first session of the winter season, thus burning off some of their festive fare.

Upcoming matches

Player graphic All fixtures for our Mixed team have been completed, so it just leaves one match for the Ladies before Sidmouth's season ends. They're off to Otter Vale on the 12th March.

Match Results

Scoreboard image Our Ladies hosted league-champion contenders St Leonards on 4th March. There's a consistency in ;Sidmouth's score lines; either winning by 18 points or losing by 18 points. Sadly, on this occasion it was the latter, but it's reported that the team were in good spirits.

When home side Honiton B played Sidmouth before Christmas, Sidmouth won. Also, Honiton B has not had a win all season. So the smart money was on Sidmouth when Honiton B fetched up onto Sidmouth's shores on the 25th February. The Score of 7 to Sidmouth and 11 to Honiton clearly exposes the folly of gambling.

Wheeltappers & Shunters

Comedian Colin Crompton acted as the Chairman in this fictional social club. Here's a couple of jokes:

'On behalf of the Committee, I should like to tell you we made a mistake in offering the raffle prize of a diving suit. It is in fact a divan suite'.

Interrupting ventriloquist Ray Allen: 'excuse me Mr. Allen we've had some complaints that they can't quite hear you at the back. Could you hold your dummy a little closer to the microphone please?'
