Quiz Night

Our autumn 2009 social at the Sidmouth Cricket Club raised a very useful £181 for club funds.  The superior brainpower of Linda's team gave them the win.  Thanks to all who turned up to play and those who contributed to the raffle prizes.

Christmas Knockout Tournament

Congratulations to Jamie & Rosie who beat Matthew and Linda in a thrilling 21 - 19 final.  Thanks to all who took part.

Skittles Night

Over 30 people turned up for this February 2010 fundraiser at the Blue Ball Inn, Sidford.  Team B beat team A, and John Carter won the 'killer' round.  The event brought in £161 for the club - thanks in part to the raffle, which was generously supported by prize contributors and ticket buyers.  Drinks were quaffed, the buffet was demolished.  Debbie cosied up to Graham, but no scandal here - they are married, and to each other!

End of Season Club Tournament

The 31st of March was the final club night of the season, which saw a keenly fought handicap tournament culminate in a win for Chris Bird and Jane Chalk, defeating Graham Munday and Ruth Scrivens with a fairly convincing 21-13 scoreline.  The ubiquitous raffle ticket booklet appeared, generating sales of £80.  Top prize, a badminton racket donated by Vernon Smeed, went to Ann Povall.  Compulsive ticket buyer Rod Bolam saw his investment pay off, collecting a racket holdall (also donated by Vernon).

Exeter & District Presentation Evening

On Saturday 1st May, the Exeter & District Badminton League held their annual Dinner & Presentation Evening.  The Sidmouth contingent cheered as Luke Oxley collected the Mens singles 'B' cup.  They cheered again as Luke was handed, on behalf of the team, the Division 3B Mens winners cup and were still cheering when representative Hannah Manfield walked away with the Team Knockout Plate.
